Fighting bees

I pulled a few frames yesterday and put the extracted frames on the back of my property for them to clean up.  They are swarming the boxes. I went to put a cover over it before today's rain and they were quite aggressive and bumpy.

There were a lot of dead bees around the box and they seemed to be fighting quite a bit. Is this normal? I have never seen them swarm the frames like they are doing today.

In a dearth they do go nuts over a food source like that.  They don't typically kill each other though unless of course they start robbing other colonies.  What variety are your bees?

I have one hive that is a Carniolan queen and the other 6 are feral bees.

Went and had a look this morning. Still quite a few bees robbing out the frames but they seem to be playing nicer today. The frames are in a hive box sitting on top of a wheel barrow. I'm gonna put the frames back in the hives for them to maintain. The moths and bugs get to them in my garage or shed.

Hopefully they'll use the space for goldenrod soon.
